Nutrition and Fitness are key components of life and emphasized in Asian Medicine. Traditional Asian and Western medicines agree that nutrition and exercise contribute greatly to one’s health and well-being.
Nutritional practices within Asian Medicine attempt to bring balance to one’s system by consuming foods appropriate to one’s constitution. Every food and its method of preparation (cooking) have different properties such as flavor, relative temperature, and macro and micro-nutrients (vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins, sugars, fiber, and phytonutrients). Different foods and cooking methods are appropriate for different individuals, different seasons, and for different nutritional needs. I recommend appropriate nutritional choices for your condition.
Fitness is a key component of health. Regular exercise is essential to maintaining an optimally functioning system. However, not all exercises are appropriate for every individual. I recommend specific exercises to rehabilitate from an injury, strengthen particular areas of weakness, or to promote overall fitness and well-being.
